Job Description:

The Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) is responsible for supporting the Facility Security Officer (FSO) with day?to?day operationof the Industrial Security Program and enforcing compliance with all government regulations contained in theNational Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM). The AFSO will also assist with the development and enforcement of security policies, practices, andprocedures, and will play an active role in the Insider Threat Program. The AFSO reports directly to the ExecutiveDirectorof Military Systems.

Specific responsibilities may include:

  • Provide daily support through all aspects of Industrial Security, to include physical security, personnel security, information security, safeguarding, and classification management.

  • Assist with the development, implementation and monitoring of security policies and procedures, to include the Insider Threat Program.

  • Develop, administer, and keep current effective security education training and awareness program.

  • Assist the FSO in all efforts associated with general security controls, random inspections, security violations, incident response. Prepare reports as needed.

  • Assist in the administration of all security related directives, manuals, security plans, and governing documents. Revise and provide recommendations as necessary.

  • Document and maintain employee personnel security files using JPAS, E?Qip, ISFD, eFCL, SWFT.

  • Manage the security onboarding process to include the security onboarding presentation, indoctrinations, briefings, debriefings, pre/post travel briefings and annual refresher briefings.

  • Provide employees with SF 312 Non?Disclosure Agreement (NDA) responsibility guidance as a part of their access indoctrination(s) and debriefs.

  • Prepare and maintain DD254 forms for local office and its subcontractors.

  • Conduct all foreign travel pre?brief and debriefs of all secure personnel and maintain personnel files.

  • Ensure compliance with NISPOM and all security protocols required by customers or contracts, and keep informed of changing industrial security regulations

  • Prepare for government audits by conducting routine security vulnerability assessments and self? inspections to identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.

  • Maintain effective Document Inventory and Control Program for management of classified systems, media and documents. Maintain a receipt, dispatch, and accountability record of all classified materials on hand.

  • Ensure disposition of all classified materials in accordance with the NISPOM and contract requirements. Prepare destruction certificates for any classified materials being destroyed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills:

2.1 EDUCATION AND TRAINING

          • Bachelor degree required.

2.2 EXPERIENCE

          • Five (5) years of experience as an AFSO/Security Specialist in government or industrial security.

          • Active Secret DOD Security Clearance.

          • Assistant FSO Certification a plus.

2.3 KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

          • Working knowledge of Industrial Security principals and NISPOM.

          • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

          • Ability to multitask and communicate well with all levels of personnel.

          • Accountable for own actions.
